Go Embarass Yourself

That full video was unbelievably cringey.

I had this monologue that I had thought about that morning while I was moving out of my apartment

I was like, “oh man, I’m gonna drop some insight on social media, some life lessons.”

And when I watched it back I think I threw up in my mouth a bit.

Not only is the content of it kinda shit, the audio is so trash that I literally can’t even show it.

So I have this hilarious 11 minute long video of me speaking in this really dramatic frame, right, with like all my furniture moved outta this apartment with a single chair that when i walk away i fold up and its all intense and I look at myself thinking “dude, why so fucking serious?”

I wanted to share that because I believe if you’re doing life right, you’re constantly feeling that way.

You will constantly doing things where you identify an action that you think is positive, it’s aligned with your mission, your direction, your values, and then it will flop.

I’m testing out new things with content because it’s not something I have a lot of experience with and I’m trying to get better at it.

I’m decisive, so I take action.

I thought about this video as I’m moving out of my apartment.

Boom, set up the scene, take the video, record the video, go and look back at it.

And then just cringe think, “wow, this is really fucking lame.”

To which I immediately laughed and recognized that that was a success.

Because so many of the things that are going to take you to your next level will be like that.

You’re gonna take action in the direction that you want to go, and it’s just gonna be shit.

But you’re going to learn from it and get better from it.

Right? Even though you will never see the contents of that video, that video made me better at making content.

And obviously provided the sick walk up.

But the fact of the matter is, the more capable you are at handling the feeling of embarrassment, the more decisive you become, the faster you take action, and the faster you get where you want to go.

Everything that you want in this life is likely on the other side of taking a lot of value-aligned actions that make you feel embarrassed or weird or cringey or uncomfortable.

Sorry for the clickbait.
