Helping 1 Billion People Make One Value-Based Decision a Day
Aug 7, 2026 · From the podcast episode notes.
I was having a cozy Friday morning reading my 2030 vision statement for iAlign, and instead of just reading it to myself I put it up on screen and recorded it. This is probably a video that won’t do well, but I wanted it on record so I can play it back in January of 2030 and see how much of it actually happened. So you get the whole thing, the mission of helping a billion people make one value based decision every day, an app built as a shield instead of another infinite feed, the expeditions, the papers we want to publish, how the team runs, and the life I want to be living while all of it happens, still driving the 2019 ProMaster, the Silver Sheila. Some of it is admittedly theoretical. I read it when things feel chaotic because it helps me prioritize, and I figured speaking it out loud was worth doing once.

Hello, I hope you’re having a wonderful morning. I’m just having a cozy Friday morning. Maybe I should turn the lights on, actually. I was reading my vision statement, which is… It’s a business vision statement for iAlign for 2030, and I thought that instead of just reading it to myself, I’d actually record it, ’cause I think it’s pretty powerful, and it helps me kind of recenter when things are feeling a little bit chaotic, help me prioritize effectively.
So I just put it up here on my screen, and I’m gonna read through it. This is probably a video that will not do well, but I think it’ll be interesting,
As a comparison of me actually speaking this into existence effectively to maybe I’ll re-read this in a year or in January of 2030, and we’ll see how much of this, if not more of it, I accomplish. That’s– Some of this is a, is a bit theoretical. I’ll put that in, perspective. All right.
So this is my iAlign Vision 2030, helping one billion people take one value-based decision every single day. this document outlines the iAlign ecosystem and my life as of January 1st, 2030, written in June 2026. Now, part one… I put this up on the screen. I don’t have to use this. Now, part one: the core philosophy, the mission and legacy of iAlign.
It is January 1st, 2030. What began as a performance coaching company focused primarily on helping engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs overcome procrastination, hesitation, distraction, consumptive behaviors like scrolling, and self-doubt, has evolved into a global force in personal development, behavioral research, and innovative technology.
In an increasingly distracted and divided world, iAlign creates a protected ecosystem dedicated to the flourishing of the human spirit, serving as a modern Virgil, Athena, and Marcus Aurelius, guiding individuals toward the threshold of their own hero’s journey, protecting their capacity to navigate it, and then helping them wrestle with the deeper truths that emerge along the way.
through this process, they discover freedom from distractions, enter deeper levels of consistent focus, pursue meaningful missions, and contribute more fully to the world around them. At its core, iAlign exists to help people bridge the gap between their deepest values and their daily actions.
the mission is driven by three clear primary objectives. Number one, empower one billion people to make at least one value-based decision every single day. Number two, build systems that protect individuals from increasingly exploitative technologies while helping them maintain ownership of their attention, their decisions, and their lives.
And number three, research and innovate at the forefront of the intersection of behavioral psychology and sociology, predictive analytics, engineering, IoT, ethics, and philosophy, One of my true loves. Brings us to the metrics of success. The success of iAlign is measured by the number of people who engage with the platform daily via the software, the coaching, the courses, content, or other relevant tools or resources, by the reviews and testimonials it receives, and referrals because of the impact it has had on individuals’ lives, and the predictability that the technology is capable of creating in a person’s life.
Now, part two, the actual product ecosystem and the user journey. The experience is a comprehensive implementation ecosystem platform existing across mobile, desktop, and non-electronic resources. implementation ecosystem in this context means the immediate purpose of any engagement with the ecosystem is to lower the inertial energy required in any given moment to either, A, move through an obstacle and/or, B, take a specific and value-aligned action.
That’s the outcome. Coaching and community services are offered in easy-to-use online environments with intermittent in-person experiences. The digital platform continuously adapts to the individual’s past, current, and predicted future states. Brings me to the app interface and behavioral shield.
This is a cool one. Members do not encounter algorithmic feedback loops, infinite scroll feeds, or toxic engagement loops. Instead, the architecture has started to act as a functional shield against both external, i.e., technological, and internal, i.e., personal limitations. The interface features a custom notification management system for other applications.
These are screen time integrations, focus filters designed to reduce distraction, and increase self-awareness and intentionality. These are just the beginning of the suite of tools planned for client access in 2030. Every interaction, whether direct or indirect, feeds into an underlying predictive system.
This is a sophisticated set of behavioral models that track the variance between a member’s ideal intentions, their lived experience, and their perception of reality. New integrations for the automatic tracking of data continuously and unobtrusively learn the following: perceptual gaps, identifying when a user’s current perceived condition may diverge from their desired baseline reference condition established using their core values, which I’ll actually speak about in the research section.
Behavioral probabilities and dynamic interventions. These are evaluating the likelihood of a user slipping into an off-track behavior versus taking aligned action. And when a member experiences friction or discomfort with an upcoming task, the platform identifies the pattern and intervenes with supportive and personalized tools and resources.
This guides the client toward intentional pauses through adaptive check-ins, such as automated texts, custom software prompts, or potentially automated calls, their iAlign toolbox or other reflective cues.
consciously choosing an aligned path or an action forward out of their own volition. Capacity tracking. Recognizing the point of diminishing returns where the time spent learning or implementing tools stops converting effectively, tracking the natural decay of user competency back towards baseline.
This stops the redundant effort loop that’s created by the self-help industry. Contrary to the industry’s parasitic intent to create a self-help hamster wheel, the point is for a client to take significant action in the world, not to spend time on personal growth or even on the iAlign platform itself. In accordance with the privacy of such data and the ethics of such data, iAlign takes extra precautions to not only store and protect sensitive user data with best practices, but also to be on the forefront of identifying novel solutions for ethical data privacy in a world of changing infrastructure and AI.
Clients experience greater privacy and are not targeted with ads because of their use of iAlign. Very important. You are not taken advantage of because of your use of this system.
At the center of this experience sits the iAlign toolbox and iAlign filter. Rather than forcing people through an identical solution, right, an identical path, which isn’t how humans work, this ecosystem helps each member build a deeply personalized, curated collection of tools, interventions, and exercises that have been proven effective for them through their actual lived experience.
Because real transformation happens in the physical world, not just on screens. The digital ecosystem is paired with tangible physical tools such as custom layout journals, implementation workbooks, milestone guides, focus timers, group experiences, and environmental modifications. Their filter is composed of their own implementation of the algorithm actively being researched, which is right now called the fulfillment formula, that helps them prioritize or identify what to prioritize and what to draw boundaries around with clarity.
And this leads me to the client life cycle from day one to day 365 of the user experience. Day one is onboarding. On their first day, a member receives immediate personal reach-outs from multiple team members and targeted automations confirming they are in the right place. They are instantly introduced to their core support system.
This is their peer accountability group, their dedicated client success manager, and direct communication channels to the professionals, the coaches, the counselors, the potential therapists that are working in the system.
To combat early hesitation, as anyone will have in a, in a personal development system, they are handed clear, highly tuned methods for securing quick wins through immediate small daily rituals matched to the specific obstacles they entered the program to solve. They are given instructions on the rules of interaction, namely be compassionate.
Don’t judge, don’t shame, be honest, and ask for help. Those are the rules. By day 30, members are fully integrated. they know the core people in their cohort and reach out to them actively.
They are tracking through the software, through their journal, and with their coach, whether it’s human or AI, depending on maybe the tier of the service, and jumping into targeted group calls to learn the six stages of iAlignment and how they can systematically overcome their specific behavioral bottlenecks.
At this stage, every member has identified at least one major limiting belief or behavior and is seeing objective progress toward overcoming it. They receive a clear, compassionate, yet deeply challenging performance review from the coaching staff guiding a recommitment to an optimized schedule, to new tools, or just escalated accountability based on what they actually need.
On a monthly basis, each client is provided with a progress summarized in a review experience inspired by the emotional resonance of Spotify Wrapped, ’cause I just love it.
The platform generates a custom animated interactive movie mapping the individual’s personal hero’s journey through their toughest and most triumphant moments that helps them identify the specific insights that they have been integrating.
This experience visualizes specific highly tracked metrics, such as total focused deep work hours logged or hours spent pushing a specific project or p- or passion forward, estimated hours saved directly from distractions and vices, alignment that comes in value alignment, pride stress, alignment momentum scores, the exact count of anticipated triggers successfully navigated, and resilience accumulated.
These metrics are tied to real-world wins that the client has accumulated, the obstacles they face in order to accrue them, beliefs they manage or reframe, et cetera, in order to iteratively integrate new lifestyle behaviors and belief systems.
After 90 days, all clients in the coaching experiences receive a dedicated call that reviews the client’s experience since their start. This call identifies the client’s largest wins, emotional experiences, and transformations, as well as gaps still to overcome. and they are supported to identify a clear direction to move forward towards. by day 365, we have the hero’s journey review. At the end of a member’s year, progress is summarized in an annual review experience. This is led by Flint on a monthly basis in a large monthly group call for all clients who have been a part of the program for a year up until that month.
It is an integral live session where clients are walked through reports that have been generated via their own profile to display their journey over the course of the year. I’m really excited about this. they leave feeling inspired, supported, enthusiastic, and in a state of anticipation.
this leads into a place I’m really excited about as well, which are real-world client transformations. So because of the iAlign ecosystem, An active member has completely altered their daily operations after a year. They spend significantly less time scrolling through time-wasting apps upon waking up, before falling asleep, during critical work blocks, or just simply in general.
They have a consistent and clear implementation of checking in on themselves to assess their own mental and emotional and psychological state. When faced with a looming uncomfortable responsibility, they have a greater capacity or competency to pause, use to clear emotional friction, and continue to execute.
When a setback occurs, they are more competent at letting go of negative emotions like shame, to view the experience as one to be learned from, as an opportunity, and then to use their toolbox to move forward.
Their lifestyle is full of aligned environmental changes and actions.
And lastly, they feel a deep sense of excitement and anticipation for what is to come in their life, right? it should be a really positive experience. This leads to part three, the content, the community, the media, and reputation. So word of mouth, trust, and authentic content are our primary engines of growth. People often discover iAlign through someone they already deeply trust. Maybe a founder, an engineer, a scientist, or at this point, we’ve reached a, a much broader, range of people. We’re not more niched down. so it could be just family members, friends whose visible life transformation have sparked curiosity.
iAlign has consistent content and advertising presence, always putting itself in front of new and interested prospective clients with high quality, engaging, authentic content. The main forms of content that serve as the entry point into the iAlign ecosystem are weekly video and written essays, short stories, and interviews delivered via YouTube, social media platforms, and our own weekly podcast and email list.
Through long-form essays, conversations, case studies, and deep behavioral breakdowns, our content helps audiences think and work through current obstacles and leaves them with new ways of acting differently My new book documenting the methodology and philosophy of iAlign is in the final stages of editing for publication, and our first research papers are under review or in preparation. We are pursuing publication in– This is a bit of an ambitious one.
We are pursuing scientific publication in Psychological Review for our theoretical framework, which extends models such as perceptual control theory and rational emotive behavior therapy through a novel architecture of values-aligned action. The framework proposes that core values function as higher order filters that organize and reconcile competing reference conditions, acting as a transfer function that transforms perception, emotion, and environmental stimuli into behavior.
In parallel, and this one’s a bit longer, uh, we are pursuing publication in Nature Human Behavior for our predictive behavioral intelligence platform, which combines longitudinal check-ins, multimodal behavioral data, and machine learning, which we probably don’t use the word machine learning anywhere anyways in 2030, uh, to identify value conflict, behavioral drift, and emerging obstacles before they become consciously visible to the individual. Highly ambitious builders, researchers, and executives engage with this library of content and often make sure to double-check that they are up to date on the most recent pieces because they genuinely enjoy it and receive value from it.
We have a clear marketing system where each funnel is documented and tracked. It is simple to access each lead magnet, each ad, or other creative that is prospect-facing. can be tracked to a clear reason for being spent. When advertising and marketing tests are being run, they are structured, and insights collected from them are used for later tests.
And this brings me to the community, which has a couple of different aspects. First, compassionate accountability. The premium community is a highly curated, remarkably diverse collection of top-tier engineers, scientists, innovators, and leaders who are relentlessly committed to value-aligned execution.
The first thing that a newcomer notices upon joining a community call is an anticipation driven by the caliber and ambition of the individuals in the room. The lower cost communities, both coaching and software-based, are filled with equally ambitious and value-driven aspirational clients. and the baseline culture is built around an uncompromising no bullshit atmosphere fueled by compassion, which is a very unique thing in this world.
Members speak with complete unshielded vulnerability about their setbacks. There is no judgment, but self-deception and avoidance are immediately called out by their peers and their coaches. Common internal phrases anchor the community’s mindset daily. things that you will likely hear in these groups are, “This is just an opportunity.
It’s just data. what would increase the probability of success next time? Progress over perfection. All emotions end. Where is the insight? Emotions don’t dictate decisions, and this too shall pass.”
Now onto something that I’m really excited about. the in-person expeditions and events. Throughout the year, iAlign runs intense physical real-world experiences via mountain expeditions, wilderness backpacking trips, surfing adventures, and endurance challenges designed to test members physically and emotionally.
These physical trials act as real-world laboratories, transforming abstract mental resilience into lived, undeniable capability. This year, we are hosting our first large-scale summit that combines tactical execution workshops with peer-to-peer accountability updates, speakers from renowned universities and institutions, and networking opportunities for like-minded individuals aiming to build impactful technologies and services.
part four: the team internal culture, lifestyle, and founder legacy. iAlign is a living demonstration that massive global impact does not require an enormous workforce. the company intentionally remains as small as possible, lean and highly leveraged using delegation to AI tools, softwares, and contract work, rejecting headcount as a measure of capability and taking pride in personal efficacy The operating model is fully remote, viewing geographic freedom not as a perk, but as a core reflection of the company values.
iAlign sponsors employees to live in inspiring locations, and human energy is fiercely protected from corporate bureaucracy. teams are trusted completely to execute without micromanagement and are expected to systematically double-check their work. Repetitive workflows, routine tasks, and logistics are handled by automated systems and specialized contractors as often as possible.
the non-negotiable values of iAlign are the following: integrity, compassion, curiosity, and contrarian thinking. Dishonesty or political maneuvering result in termination immediately as they reduce the efficacy of iAlign and our capacity to achieve our mission of supporting our clients.
a clear pipeline is created for feedback and desires, where employees are supported and expected to outgrow their current roles and to ask for clarity on future direction. Team members are evaluated and promoted for their contribution to over-delivering on our clients’ qualitative experience.
It’s crazy. Cool company. The internal culture mirrors the client environment. Employees receive personalized high-level coaching, individual career advancement roadmaps, and direct profit-sharing incentives bound to client success. The unedited truth of the internal culture is simple: be hardworking, compassionate, honest, receptive to feedback, and build cool shit, ‘ cause that’s what I wanna do.
This leads to me, the founder’s lifestyle and alignment. Executive assistants and delegation frameworks remove all of the low leverage coordination and logistics from my schedule.
this preserves energy exclusively for creation, which is where I want to spend all of my time in this world. Writing, deep behavioral research, product architecture design, coaching, and strategy. Just building and creating. It’s what I love. My life is a direct living demonstration of the principles taught throughout the entire ecosystem.
This is kind of a wild one to put in a video like this that’s public. Geographic freedom. A significant portion of the year is spent living and working out of inspiring global environments while I maintain homes in La Jolla, California, and Pichilemu, Chile. Every single day is anchored by four to eight, and sometimes more, hours of uninterrupted silent deep work dedicated to building, to researching, to creating content, to designing new iterations of the ecosystem, to actually supporting through the creations of iAlign. Outdoor adventure. A portion of every day is spent outdoors, whether that’s surfing, climbing mountains, hiking, training.
two to four times a year, I exit operations for four to eight days of silence and contemplation or creation. So these are silent retreats, meditative retreats, backpacking trips, et cetera. I continuously shorten personal learning curves by surrounding myself with top-tier advisors, coaches, and experienced operators who have mastery or knowledge on the operational scale problems that we face as a company and as a community, and honestly as, like, a society.
every single day is lived with clarity regarding what receives attention and what is declined. My lifestyle stands as absolute proof of iAlign’s core conviction. Human beings are most fulfilled when they consistently act in alignment with what they genuinely value. And I still drive my 2019 Ram ProMaster City, the Silver Sheila, who’s parked outside.
part five: Conclusion and legacy. I foresee our legacy will be through the resilience of our clients. When tens of millions of people take more consistent action in alignment with their values, individuals become more resilient, autonomous, self-reliant, and break their dependence on external systems to determine what they should think, believe, or do. As a result, society is becoming stronger Pretty cool.
In summary, iAlign is becoming the world’s leading system for helping people protect their agency, align their actions with their values, and build meaningful lives through the combined power of coaching, community, behavioral science, and technology
and I look forward to rereading this in January of 2030, um, because it’s a cool mission. It’s one that’s worth dedicating my life to. And if you’ve gotten this far and you want to be a part of the journey, Reach out. There’s a link in the description of this video where you can book a call and become a part of the journey of iAlign. Peace.
